GLENMORANGIE

Converted from the Morangie Brewery. Rebuilt in 1887 and agin in 1979 when the number of stills were increased from two to four.

One of the smallest distilleries which has for years been the best selling malt in the UK, and third in the world. A noted feature of the distillery is that the stills have very tall necks, at 16ft10ins.

Color - Good light gold / plae straw. Nose - Fresh, medium-bodied, steely with floral notes and a touch of peat. Flavor - Light, fresh,slightly smoky with oily creaminess. Finish - Sweet with good length.

Color - Pale gold. Nose - Spicy (cinnamon, walnut, sandalwood?), with some flowery sweetness, fresh, a whiff of the sea, enticing.
Body
- On the light side of medium, but with some viscosity.
Palate
- Spicy, flowery, and malty-sweet tones that are creamy, almost buttery. Finish - Long and rounded.

Color - Honey-amber with good gold highlights. Nose - Fresh, salty, nutty (almonds), with an edge of sweetness, quite full and round. Flavor - Smooth, medium-dry, fresh, good nut-oily glycerine, quite full-bodied Finish -Medium-dry, spicy, long and almost creamy.

Color - Full reddish-amber. Nose - Sherry, mint, walnuts, sappy, oaky. Body - Medium, smooth, fleshier. Palate - Sherryish and sweet at first, more walnuts, then the whole pot-pourri of spiciness. Finish -Aromatic, nutty, lightly oaky.

Sweetness - 6 Peatiness - 3 Availability - 1

Color - Mid-amber with old gold highlights. Nose - Soft, quite delicate, but with good weight, medium-sweet, rich and unctuous with notes of vanilla, toffee, fudge and fruit cake. Palate - SRound, rich, smooth, medium-sweet, toffeeyed and quite full-bodied. Finish - Long, rich and elegant with very gentle tannins. Notes - finished in a Premier Cru Bordeaux cask.

Color - Orangey amber. Nose - Fruity, frangrant, cedary. Body -Firm, drying on the tongue. Palate - Dry, cedary start. Becoming slightly raisiny. Long development of more spicy notes.Finish - Dry, with a slightly cookie-like sweetness and fruity perfuminess.
