Taste rating = 3 Bunnahabhain, on the north shore of Islay, is one of the more isolated of the island's distilleries. Founded in 1881, it has changed very little in the invervening century despite expansion in the 1960's. All its production formerly went into blends. Bunnahabhain was owned by the Islay Distillery Company who bought Glen Rothes Distillery in 1887, together forming the Highland Distilleries Company. They still own Bunnahabhain today. |
