| Remark : | Built by Benromach Distillery Compagny. In 1925 the mash tun was wooden. Benromach was designed by Elgin architect Charles Doig and has high pitched garbels and narrow mullioned windows in the Scots vernacular style of the 17th. century. Bought by Associated Scottish Distilleries Limited in 1937. ASD Ltd. sold it to DCL in 1953. It was managed by SMD and licensed to J. & W. Hardie. Still house was rebuilt in 1966. Mash house rebuilt in 1974 and tun-room modernised also in 1974. There are now two stills bought by Gordon & MacPhail in 1992 who reopned the stills in 1996. (Thanx !) |
