Tomintoul ist zwar unbestritten das höchstgelegene Dorf in den Highlands, aber die 1965 erbaute Destillerie gleichen Namens liegt etwas unterhalb des Örtchens, so daß der Preis für die höchstgelegene Brennerei an Dalwhinnie geht.

Tomintoul is unquestioned the highest located village in the Highlands, but the Tomintoul Distillery, which was built in 1965, is situated a little bit below the village, so that the award for the highest located distillery belongs to Dalwhinnie.
