The Scotch Whisky Association is seeking a duty cut of 4% in
spirits duty in next week’s Budget. Spirits duty has been frozen in the last two
Budgets, and the Association believes that a cut would boost the industry, repatriate
sales currently lost to cross-channel shopping and smuggling, and thus increase government
revenues. |
